Also known as The Bridge in Monet’s Garden and The Japanese Footbridge, Brücke in Monets Garten is a series of paintings from 1899 – 1920 inspired by the new Japanese footbridge (built in 1895) across the pond in Monet’s garden.
The footbridge is also a feature in other series by Monet, including Agapanthus and Water Lillies. There are about 12 different versions of the Japanese bridge, exhibited from different vantage points in Monet’s garden.
