A Yorkshire Lane in November is an innovative oil painting done by John Atkinson Grimshaw. However, there’s not much known about this Victorian-era artist.
The painting measures 54.6 x 43.2 cm. We see an isolated figure that walks down a rain-swept street that’s lit only by the moon. The figure is flanked by leafless trees that seem somehow sad, and help to set the scene for the viewer’s poetic imagination.
