Bathsheba is a biblical figure, known as the mother of the king of Israel, King Solomon. Legend tells of her great beauty, of how she seduced King David with her feminine wiles.
Artist Benjamin Matthew Victor details Bathsheba just as the Bible described her, sensually yet apprehensive. It is said that she was sculpted just as she exited a bath, her clothing still clinging to her body, towel held tightly in her left hand.
