Agapanthus is a part of the Water Lillies series of paintings by Monet, which were inspired by his garden at his home in Giverny. Monet spent a lot of time in his garden as it brought him joy. He cultivated water lillies in his pond, and planted Agapanthus along the banks of the pond for their pleasing and aesthetic lines and colors.
These oil canvas paintings were created by him during 1914-1926. As with most of the paintings from his garden, no sky or horizon is visible, only the reflection of it on the water.
