Philippe Faraut is a contemporary sculptor known for his figurative works in clay and bronze. He was born in 1954 in Chartres, France and moved to the United States in 1977. Faraut’s work is characterized by his focus on the human form, which he sculpts in a realistic and expressive style. He has authored several books on figurative sculpture, including “Figure Sculpting: Volume 1- Planes & Construction Techniques in Clay” and “Figure Sculpting Volume 2: Gesture & Drapery Techniques in Clay.” In addition to his sculptural practice, Faraut teaches workshops and classes on figurative sculpture around the world. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe.
